Launched in January 2018 by partners Attorney Ayanna Alcendor and Attorney Jehan Crump-Gibson, Great Lakes Legal Group is an African-American and female-owned law firm in Metro Detroit. The firm has two locations, one in Corktown and another in Oakland County. GLLG joined the thriving community of small businesses in Corktown in February 2018, with the opening of its 14th Street office at St. Vincent’s Corktown. The firm has been privileged to be a part of this diverse and historic community.
Great Lakes Legal Group’s practice areas include: Criminal Defense, Family Law, Business Law, Probate and Estate Planning, Government Affairs and Mediation. In 2018, GLLG handled a high volume of diverse matters, including:

Attorney Crump-Gibson attributes GLLG’s success to their strong commitment to their clients: “We pride ourselves on taking a holistic approach to representation. Our team is concerned with more than just the outcome of that custody battle, finalizing that estate plan or business deal. It's more than that. A client of Great Lakes Legal Group is not just a file number- we truly care about the person.”
Another factor to the firm’s success can be found in its talent. Recognized four times by Michigan Super Lawyers Magazine as a Rising Star, Crump-Gibson brings extensive experience to GLLG. Earning dual Bachelor of Arts degrees in Political Science and English from Michigan State University, she then earned her Juris Doctorate from Wayne State University Law School. Attorney Alcendor brings a wealth of experience to the law firm, as well. Having received her Juris Doctorate from Western Michigan Thomas M. Cooley Law School in 2013, Alcendor interned at C&G Solutions PLC, Crump-Gibson’s first firm. She also gained invaluable experience through a number of other prestigious positions, including:
